FOREIGN NATIONALS OFFICE / BENIDORM LOCAL POLICE STATION - PROCEDURE INFORMATION.

A.- COMMON DOCUMENTS FOR ALL PROCEDURES

1. Valid Identity Card or Passport (Original and copy).
The copy of the I.D. card must be back and front and of the passport the biographical data page. Legal residence in Spain.
2. Passport size photograph.
3. Application in duplicate.
  • Model EX-15 for NIE assignment, NIE duplicate and other certificates. (1)
  • Model EX-18 for the Registration Certificate of the Union citizen. (2)
4. Payment of fees
Model 790 – Code 12 (3) according to the following table:
Assignment of N.I.E. number 9.64€
N.I.E. Duplicate 7.17€

Registration Certificate of the Union Citizen 12.00€
Application and Issue of a Letter of Invitation 79.99€

FURTHER CLARIFICATIONS

1.USE OF POWER OF ATTORNEY:
  • Power stating that it is “valid to apply for and collect the NIE-number” (Original and copy). When the power of attorney is granted abroad it must be apostilled. (Hague Convention of October 5th 1961)
  • Notarized copy (biographical data page). When notarized abroad it must be apostilled.
  • When the power of attorney is issued in Spain, the certified copy of the passport must be of all pages, meaning, complete. The biographical data page only, will not be accepted. (This will be in those cases where the passport is reflected in a power or separately).
2. DOCUMENTS ISSUED ABROAD.
All documents issued abroad and not written in Spanish must be translated by a sworn translator.
3. PRIOR APPOINTMENT THROUGH INTERNET.

C.- N.I.E ASSIGNMENT

Necessary documents to present at the office:
  1. All common documents, Section A.
  2. Document that justifies the need for N.I.E assignment: for economic interests, for example, the draft of the deed of sale of a property. For professional interests, for example, to set a company (Ltd) or if self-employed forms 036 or 037, or the draft of deed of the company or similar, etcetera. For social interests.

D.- DUPLICATES AND OTHER CERTIFICATES

Necessary documents to present at the office:
  1. Valid ID Card or passport and copy, in the case of the ID copy of the front and back, in the case of passport copy of the biographical data page.
  2. Application. Form EX15.
  3. Payment of fees. Form 790 – CODIGO 12.

E.- RESIDENCE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE EU CITIZEN

Necessary documents to present at the office:
    1. All common documents, Section A.
    2. Updated work life certificate in case of employed workers.
    3. Updated work life certificate and form 036 or 037 in case of self-employed workers.
    4. In case of pensioners form E-121 o S-1, and a bank statement from de bank where the pension is received, for a year prior to the time of the application , or a bank certificate that certifies the amount received monthly as a pension.
    5. In case of not working or not receiving unemployment benefits, and not being a pensioner, according to regulations, will have to justify “... for himself and his family members sufficient resources not to become a burden for the social assistance in Spain” as well as a comprehensive health insurance justified by the following documents:
      • Bank certificate of being in possession of the minimum amount of 7000€ per person. The personal circumstances of each person will be valued. From the third person on it will be added 3500€ each. See box below:

      • Comprehensive health insurance in Spain justified by the following documents: - Insurance policy where to check the particular conditions of it. It must be a health insurance that covers : primary care, specialties, hospital admissions, and surgical interventions. It should not include co-payments, and must be paid annually. - A receipt of payment or certificate of the insurer as this is paid.

E.- CERTIFICATE OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE UE CITIZEN

Necessary documents to present at the office:
  1. All common documents, Section A
  2. Bank account statement of the previous two years, where banking movements are reflected, in order to check the continued residence: payments of electricity bills, water, etcetera. Charges with local business cards, gas stations, restaurants, tolls, etcetera
